bummer

  • It looks like Momo won’t be able to make it to Master’s birthday party at Blowfish this Saturday. It’s not going to be the same without her. We promised and waited for almost a year for this. I guess things can’t stay the same if you don’t live in the same city.
  • My mom’s been making me drink this foulest-tasting chlorophyll water (wtf you ask. yes. wtf) that’s supposedly very helpful for people suffering indigestion like me. I’ve drunk grass water and other weird stuff before but this one takes the cake. I don’t know what sawdust tastes like but this drink tastes like a handful of dust mixed with water that’s been still way too long. It kills my appetite for breakfast and dinner (I have to drink it in the morning and at night).
  • My bruise is still not entirely healed yet. It’s been two weeks now.
I’m bummed but at least the presidential inauguration is over and the new pair seems to be more promising than the last. I spent a good part of the morning watching the ceremony and some interviews with ministers who were sacked from the new cabinet line-up. One even dared to play innocent and said she didn’t know why she’s excluded from the new assembly even though she’s done nothing but the best for the people, saying this with a choking, tearful look. fuck you and your fucking lying mouth. How about this? You were the BIGGEST corrupter. Go to hell. case closed.

I don't know why I'm so angry nowadays even though I manage to hide it better than I used to be able to. I know that life isn't fair but the injustices in my world just make my blood boil and my head spinning with fury.

I keep on thinking,
"What can I do?"
"What can I do?"
"What can I do?"

WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT?

I'm going to make this work for me. I swear. I will make it work.

BLACK IS ALWAYS IN

I've never really given much thought to bandwidth and download slots until a few days ago when I was given an "Error: All the download slots for your country are busy/full" page as I tried to download the latest VOGUE Japan magazine. Little reminders that I'm no longer in the land of Uncle Sam start to get really conspicuous now - the traffic, the lack of people crowding fast food chain stores, et cetera. Not that they are bad, with the exception of the perpetually horrendous traffic (of course), and in fact, I'm starting to get used to it.

Ever since returning home, I've also lost the urge to shop impulsively and I seldom snack anymore, which is definitely good news to me. My friends would be particularly proud of the former. A few of them have expressed concerns over my shopaholic habit while abroad and now, suddenly whooosh it's all gone. And perhaps, with the right amount of exercise, I can finally sculpt my body to my ideal look. hahahahaha. RIGHT. Like I'd ever exercise.

Joan Rivers said,
"I don't exercise. If God had wanted me to bend over, he'd have put diamonds on the floor."
and my principles on going to the gym is similar to Rivers' if not exactly the same. I'm one lazy pig and it's really a wonder that I'm deemed quite fit by numerous physical tests. I remember that back in high school, whenever it's PE period, I'd just sit at the side or lie down beside the basketball court and stare up at the sky while chatting with friends until the hour is up. Once during my senior year, my PE teacher came up to me and pleaded exasperatedly for me to play ..err...handball? something ball that I can't even remember...with the rest of my classmates. Before I continue, let me set it straight that I did not always bail out of P.E period. I actually joined in some of the times whenever I thought the games were fun and I participated in inter-class competitions too. It's just that as years passed, I'm more brazen in showing my laziness in front of the teacher and quietly staying away from exerting any energy because my PE lessons were always scheduled early in the morning at about 8 or 9 and followed by intense Physics/Chem/Bio classes. I found it hard to concentrate on those crucial subjects when I put effort in PE classes. Anyway, he asked me nicely to participate since the yearly physical exam was just around the corner and he wanted to make sure that all of us would pass with no glitches whatsoever. I refused to join in the 'fun' but I promised him that I'd get gold results (the results are divided to gold, silver, & bronze categories with gold being the best) for all the tests and if I do get all gold, he'd stop buggering me about playing some ball games. Deal done and long story short, I delievered on my promise and from then on, I didn't have to budge my ass to the field if I didn't want to.

Looking back, I really think that high school would be so much more dull and boring if you never rebel against the school authorities. It won't be as memorable, precious and oh-so-much-FUN without a little fight. Of course you have to study hard but one must know how to play hard as well ;)

That said, we're entering Autumn already, or rainy season here in lovely *cough* Jakarta. I browsed some fashion sites for outfit inspirations even though they'll all be useless to me since I basically only have ONE suitcase of clothes with me here. Everything else, including all my cardigans, are collecting dust in LA and won't be available to me until the end of this year when my sister will hopefully bring back some of my clothes with her when she returns for winter holiday. But a girl can dream, can't she?

I'm loving the abundance of mesh and rad cut-ups in Teamo's new collection:

and I'm sooooo IN LOVE with the pair of thigh-high boots. Very, very chic indeed. Strong, structured silhouettes paired with feminine layers in BLACK BLACK BLACK. My fave colour :) Not to forget the striking, gold chunky necklace too.

the boots! I want a pair like that!

hmmm, suddenly gingham looks attractive to me. but the hem is a little too high to pass as appropriate in Jakarta *sobs*

from: thisisteamo.com

look at the awesome studs on these thigh high boots! I'll be on the lookout for anything similar to this.

I'm also looking for a striped cardigan that looks like this

To get theexact item would be near impossible because I saw this in a Japanese magazine spread a few months back. Besides, I'd bet my last dollar that this is only available in Japan and as such, I'm only hopeful of finding a similar item elsewhere. Love the giant buttons and simple details on the pockets.

and my personal project for this season would be to replicate this!

I found several giant safety pins in my mom's dresser drawer the other day but they are already out of shape. I think she uses them to pin down the bed sheets tightly so they stay silky smooth always. The good things is, now I'm sure that someone knows where to get giant safety pins! This should be a pretty simple project.

What are your plans to spice up your wardrobe for the last few months of the year? Do share your thoughts!

prepping & supernatural

The competition is ON!

I'm preparing my post for the SITE GLAMOUR contest (which will be open for voting starting the end of this month) while trying to balance my new life in the city, which isn't going too well as I just bitten by one of the Rottweiler puppies I have at home. She's a real devil, alright, but a smart and energetic one, so I forgive her for the friendly bite. It left a nasty bruise on my right calf that makes it seem like I was tortured or something similar to that at home. I hope people don't get the wrong ideas. I grew up in a very loving family :)

I haven't had the chance to take a picture of the lovely puppies, but will do so eventually. My father teased me that I'm only loving the dogs now because I'm trying to imitate whatever is popular in movies. Nice one, dad.

Now, I need to get back to my season 2 of Supernatural. Sam Winchester is such a heartthrob!!! I LUB LUB LUB HIM :D

puppy eyes, TALL TALL PHYSIQUE (*drooooool*) and mmm, what else? Calm demeanour and high intelligence. What's not to love there? All my friends root for Dean, played by Jensen Ackles, but I think Dean is too much of a goofball. I LIKE SAMMIE.

Oh, before I forget, here's some recent pictures (by recent, I mean a month ago)

1) Happy MidAutumn Festival! , Leicester Square, London.
2) Some café that serves great Madeleines and illy coffee (me need my caffeine), Le Marais, Paris.

ciao!

Ahoy Hometown!

I've been M.I.A for sometime, thanks to lovely trips with JW in London, to Manchester and Edinburgh. I kinda like Edinburgh because it has similarities to Amsterdam :D

I'll be posting pictures soon, hopefully. Now I'm busy packing for my flight back to Asia tonight!

xoxo
